KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lauren Flanary was named the MIAA/AstroTurf Softball Hitter of the Week, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced Tuesday morning.
The true freshman from Henryetta, Okla., recorded multiple hits in three of four games this past week to lead Northeastern State to a 4-0 record. NSU's leadoff hitter compiled a .467 batting average (7-for-15) to go along with two doubles, three RBI and three runs scored.
She also had an .800 slugging percentage and never struck out or committed an error in the field.
NSU now has back-to-back hitters of the week, as junior shortstop Alyssa Aguilar won the award on Feb. 25.
