•Linda Faye Simpson
Linda Faye Simpson, age 59 and a resident of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in Tulsa. Linda was born on September 28, 1954 in Bainbridge, Maryland to Jack Lamar Fulmer and Genny Hawkins Fulmer.
Linda was a loving wife, mother and daughter. She brought great joy to everyone she met. Linda married the love of her life, Travis Simpson on March 19, 1999 in Brownsville, Tennessee. Linda liked to cook and loved to swim and participate in all outdoor activities. She was well known for her love of pets, especially her dogs and cats. She will be greatly missed.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother, Ginny Hawkins Fulmer, who passed away one month ago.
She is survived by her husband, Travis; her father, Jack Fulmer of Westminster, Maryland; a son, Michael Murphy and wife Melody of Tulsa; a daughter, Tina Murphy of Broken Arrow; a special "adopted" daughter, Stacy Mendenhall of Tulsa; a granddaughter, Fayth Murphy of Tulsa; 1 brother, Stephen Fulmer and wife Donna of Maryland; 2 sisters, Jenny Dull of Maryland, and Lechel Weaver of Pennsylvania; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family; and many good friends.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at Integrity Funeral Service from 2pm until 8pm. A funeral service for Linda will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:00pm at Little Coweta Baptist Church near Stidham, Oklahoma with Rev. Dustin Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Hanna Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
Pallbearers will be Jim Davis, Jimmy Davis, Zac Davis, Heath Davis, Travis Simpson, and Michael Murphy.

Jody Wade Henderson, a resident of Weleetka, passed away December 16, 2013 in Weleetka, Oklahoma at the age of 52. He was born Sunday, February 5, 1961 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Harold Henderson & Wilma Smith.
Jody is survived by a daughter, Jessica Faith Phipps & Fiance' Jonathan Johnson, Jr.; His parents, Harold & Wilma Henderson of Weleetka; One sister, Dena Priddy of Weleetka; Two nieces, Tyler Brooke, Couch of Weleetka; Elycia Maryah Moppin of Oklahoma As well as a host of friends and other relatives.

Frances Irene Dildine, an 83 year old resident of Okmulgee, OK died at her home on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 22, 1930 in Barnsdall, OK to Charley Royson Forrest and Myrtle Mae (Thomas) Forrest. After earning her high school education she was united in marriage with Ray Dildine and they were blessed with 3 children whom they raised in the Okmulgee area. Frances worked as a secretary for Thompson Pump Company in Okmulgee for 15 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 1989 and a brother, Charley Royson Forrest, Jr.. She is survived by 2 sons, Charles Dildine and wife, Teresa and Chris Dildine and wife, Norine all of Okmulgee; 1 daughter, Cheryl Cooley of Okmulgee; 1 brother, Wayne Forrest of Barnsdall, OK; 2 sisters, Dorthea Booth of Dewey, OK and Louise Forrest of Barnsdall, OK; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday from 11 am to 1 pm at Clearview Church in Okmulgee with a 2:00 p.m. graveside funeral service to follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. In the sweet community of Okmulgee, Okla, a son was born to Lula Mae & Lovell Staggers. Leon arrived on November 23, 1944. Forever and a day he has always been God’s child.
Leon graduated from the great Dunbar High School with the Class of 1963 in Okmulgee, OK. After high school he was in the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. After the service, he came to work as a manager of Terrace Manor Apartments.
He was a well-known musician for several churches in the Okmulgee and Tulsa area - that was his calling and he loved it.
On Sunday morning, December 15, 2013, Leon was called home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents Lula Mae and Lovell Staggers , a sister Lucille and a brother Lovell.
He leaves to keep close two sisters and two brothers, Lindsey Staggers (Liz) of Houston, TX; Johnny Staggers (Zee) of Okmulgee, OK; Kathryn Henry (Robert) of Broken Arrow, OK and Bessie Gilstrap of DeSoto, TX; very special nieces - Tijuana, Rochelle, Robbie and Felicia; great nieces, Kaelyn, Gabby and Anya, other nieces, nephews (Stuart), a host of cousins (Duz) along with a caravan of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1500 N. Miami.
Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Biglow Funeral Home in Okmulgee.

•Sharon Kay "Nana" (Roland) Hampton
Sharon Kay "Nana" (Roland) Hampton of Fort Smith, AR, formerly of Schulter, OK, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, December 9, 2013. Sharon was born on February 14, 1953, which was fitting since she was such a sweetheart. Sharon was 60 years old and was born to Joe and Geraldine Roland. Sharon was a homemaker and dedicated most of her time to family, friends, and helping stray animals. Sharon was a devoted Christian and enjoyed being around the people she loved especially her grandsons, and playing a good game of dominos and Yahtzee. Sharon loved to shop for jewelry, and believed she could never own enough pairs of shoes. Sharon also loved watching a good old black and white movie on TCM, and collected Betty Boop memorabilia, as well as Angels. Sharon expressed to her family that they could never laugh enough. She encouraged anyone she met to smile, be happy, and to not take life too seriously. Sharon was an OU fan and enjoyed watching them play basketball. Her family and friends will remember her for her giving nature, as she always put others before herself.
Sharon leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 43 years, James "Skippy" Hampton, her mother Geraldine (Roland) Bowdler of Van Buren, AR., her step mother Carol Roland of Alma, AR., three daughters, Holly Hampton of Holiday Island, AR, Tammy Semiche and husband Shane of Fort Smith, and Heather Jones and husband Jeff of Fort Smith. Nana will be missed greatly by her two grandsons, Corey Semiche and Christopher Jones. Sharon is also survived by a brother, Joe Dean Roland of Springdale, AR.
Sharon is preceded in death by her father Joe and her sister Marilyn Roland.
Sharon's life celebration will be on Thursday from 5p-7p at Lewis Funeral Chapel, where family and friends will meet.
Reverend Sid Ree will be officiating on Friday at 10 a.m. at the National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Shane Semiche, Jeff Jones, Brent Semiche, Jeff Lee, Paul Lilly, and Joseph Bratu.

Kenneth Timmy Wallace a former resident of Henryetta passed away on December 7, 2013 in Hutchinson, KS at the age of 52. Born April 3, 1961 in Henryetta to Kenneth and Senora (Benton) Wallace. Timmy graduated from Henryetta High School in 1979 and worked as a pipe liner and delivered industrial trucks.
He is preceded in death by his mother.

Christopher "Chris" Hill, a resident of Weleetka, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in Shawnee, OK at the age of 41. He was born December 2, 1972 in Tahlequah, OK to Edward Scott Jr & Maxine Hill.
Chris was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Kenneth (KEN) D. Wion a resident of Henryetta passed away on December 14, 2013 in Henryetta at the age of 73. Born June 9, 1940 in Seiling, Ok to Fred and Maxine (Armstrong) Wion. Ken attended High School in Woodward, OK where he played Football, Basketball and track. After graduation he attended and graduated for Southwestern State University where he played football.
Ken retired after many years as a text book consultant. Ken was one of the Henryetta Knight’s loyal fans. Attending many of the School Athletic events as well as watching his grandchildren participate in them. Ken and Ganelle were also loyal fans of the lake, spending time with family and friends and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife Ganelle (9-17-13), parents and a brother Don Wion.

John Owen Harvey died in Okmulgee December 15, 2013 at 55 years of age. John was born August 28, 1958 in Tulsa to Lunda and Betty Jean (Hilton) Harvey. He enjoyed motorcycles, country and western music and loved life.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Harvey, his parents and a nephew Larry Brown. He is survived by two children: Jennifer Palmer and husband Mike and Jason Duvall and wife Breann, two grandchildren: Lindsey Thornton and Chelsea Thornton, five siblings: Susie Harvey-Brown-Thompson of Okmulgee, Francis Simpson and husband Oscar of Okmulgee, Charlotte Ritchey and husband Bob of Schulter, Steve Harvey and wife Eva of Eufaula and Charles Harvey and wife Lisa of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

• EUGENE SHORT
Eugene Short, longtime Beggs resident, died Friday evening, December 13, 2013 at his home. Gene was 87 years of age. He was born July 30, 1926 in rural Keota, Oklahoma to the late Marvin and Dovie (Gosvener) Short. He attended school in Keota until joining the U.S. Army in 1945. Upon returning from World War II he graduated. Gene married Charlotte L. Greenmeyer on May 24, 1948 in Stigler. He started his career with Humpty Dumpty Supermarkets as a young man and retired as Operations Manager in 1984. Gene also enjoyed being a rancher and owned Short Limousin Ranch. Gene enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching their livestock and sporting events. He was a member of the Beggs Masonic Lodge 319 and the York Rite of Okmulgee. Gene was very proud of the many years he spent doing vision screening in the area public schools with the Masonic Lodge. Gene was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church where he had served as a Deacon for 12 years.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Evelyn Jones and two brothers, Billy and Charles Short. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte “Dot” Short of the home, children, Cynthia Short-Partin and husband Dale of Cushing, Lavita Hill and husband Ralph of Beggs and Gary Short of Ft. Smith, two brothers, Kenneth Short and wife Sue and Howard Short and wife Nancy, all of Keota, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the First Assembly of God Church in Beggs with Reverend Robert Yandell officiating. Interment followed in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers were Ryan Codding, Derek Pilkington, Justin Short, Brian Holmes, C.J. Hopkins and Shane Boydston. Honorary casketbearers will be Breyden Codding and Dalton Swayze. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beggs Masonic Lodge for Vision Screening or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
• THOMAS EUGENE NEWTON
Thomas Eugene Newton, 75, a resident of Beggs, died Friday, December 13, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born November 12, 1938 in Kellyville to the late Robert Joseph and Goldie (Barnard) Newton. Tom spent most of his life working in public service, beginning with the Tulsa Police Department, then the Tulsa Fire Department and Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office then later the Tulsa SPCA. He was the co-owner of Newton Salvage, Wrecker and Auto in Beggs. Tom enjoyed rodeoing and trail riding. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob Newton. Survivors include his son, Josh Newton and wife Ashley of Beggs, a daughter, Bambi Newton of Owasso, two grandsons, Tyler Newton and Tyler Green, a sister, Bonnie Burrough of Tulsa and a brother, Sam Newton of Tulsa.
A graveside service for Tom was held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Kellyville Cemetery with Reverend Steve Lamberson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.

George Henry Autaubo, 58, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 14, 2013 in the privacy of his home. He was born March 3, 1955 to George Clay Autaubo and Rebecca (Simmers) Autaubo in Claremore, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Clay Autaubo; nephew, Christopher Clay Chisholm and grandmother, Sarah Simmers.
Survivors include four children, Stephanie Autaubo and husband, Jay Schippers of Fort Collins, Colorado, Matthew Autaubo of Okmulgee, Sarah Autaubo-Bagby of Okmulgee and Jonathan Clay Autaubo of Okmulgee; mother, Rebecca Autaubo of Okmulgee; two brothers, Rodney Autaubo and wife, Gail and Timothy Autaubo and wife, Jennifer; three sisters, Linda Chisholm and husband, Frank, Jr., Adeline Sloma and husband, Jerry and Evelyn Pridgen and husband, Tim; thirteen grandchildren; aunt, Priscella Kahbeah; five nieces; six nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee.
Wake Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee.

• Phillip L. Thorn, Sr.
Phillip L. Thorn, Sr. passed on to Glory, December 15, 2013 at the age of 83. “Thou wilt show me the path of life: in Jesus presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore,” Psalm 16:11.
Phil was born to Julius L. Thorn, a YMCA Director, and Joela Thorn, a great teacher, in New Castle, Indiana on August 11, 1930. Assisting his father in many YMCA endeavors, he elected to serve to God in that profession. He graduated from Eureka College, Eureka, IL, and continued his graduate education at George Williams College, at that time in Chicago, where he worked part-time at Hyde Park YMCA and 111th St. YMCA. After receiving Certification, he worked as Boy’s Work Director, which included a coed teen club for youth in Hastings, Nebraska. Following that 80 hour week position, he went to Ottumwa, IA, as both Boy’s Work Director and Camp Director. He then moved on up as Chief Director of Carbondale YMCA., PA, Ridgway, PA YMCA and Kittanning, PA YMCA. Because of his experience in helping struggling YMCA’s, he was asked to be an Associate of the state of PA YMCA and traveled all of the western section of PA, starting and developing new clubs where no major YMCA existed, and assisting YMCA in existence when trouble arose. Before moving to Okmulgee YMCA he served seven years in Piscataway, NJ a branch of New Brunswick, NJ YMCA.
His is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Stella; a brother, George and his wife, Nancy of Portland, OR; a son, Phillip Thorn, Jr. and his wife, Paula; his daughter, Hyla Van Meveren; grandchildren, Christopher Thorn, Dustin Van Meveren and Crystal Van Meveren. He also has three great-grandchildren, Jamie, Jaydon and Brooklyn.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Brother Richard Manning officiating.
Services are under the direction of the Jackson Funeral Home and Crematory in Okmulgee.
